I ordered the course when it first came out so it's been sooo long... I think I just googled it and ordered from the first secure shop that came up. You know, the "tools" like rods really have little effect on the dowsing outcome so you could really make them yourself. If you watched through segment 2 of the DVD set, Paul has a 45 minute documentary about how and why dowsing works. It's really fascinating!

It really is easy to make your own L rods and pendulums. I've made L-rods from wire clothes hangers with just a pair of pliers to cut and bend the wire. The thick aluminum wire they use for hanging drop ceilings works really well too. You can hold them right in your hands or (for more sensitive rods) make a little sleeve out of metal tubing or plastic soda straws or even the barrels of used up ball point pens with the guts removed. The basic instructions are on page three of the littla handbook in the DVD set.

My favorite pendulum is just a 1/2 ounce brass bullet shaped fishing weight with a piece of white nylon string shoved through the hole in the middle. I melted the ends of the string to keep it from unravelling, and the little blob of melted nylon keeps the weight from sliding off the end of the string. Easy peasie. And it cost me all of thirty or forty cents. So I never really investigated websites selling dowsing tools.

Hi Bombur,

Thanks for the idea about the pendulum. I made my L-rods from wire clothes hangers and ball point barrels, too... some pictures here: Pictures and construction methods for L-Rods

Nice pics. That looks like a 50 cent L-rod and it seems it would work great! Why didn't I think of that?
