 Rod lengths
The manual and dvds I think mention to play with different types of dowsing rods but what about the lengths? Is there any advantage to using shorter or longer rods?

There is no particular importance as to length. Your L-rods just have to be sufficiently long and reasonably proportioned (handle-length to pointer length) so that they swing easily, but not too easily. The lengths given in the L-rod-making instructions in the little manual that accompanies the DVD set should work well for most people, but you can experiment around with them to see if somewhat different measurements work better for you. Good luck!
