 Pendulum vs LRods
I have repeatedly tried to dowse with rods, but I am unable. I just can't get it. With the pendululm, I am a good dowser (when I am having good days that is ) Is it just me or women have an easier time using pendulums instead of L Rods? It seems to me that pendulums are more versatile and look less "rudimentary"...but I may be wrong

 Re: Pendulum vs LRods
I have heard that women prefer pendulums. I definitely prefer an L-rod. It is my opinion that many people do not understand much about L-rods. There is a need for a learned sensitivity--to feel what the rod is doing, what it is telling you--and "allow" it to align with the lines of force (along your thought waves and eyebeam). This is not something that can be learned in twenty minutes.
For me, grip plays an important role. Some people grip the handle tightly so it does not twist. Others prefer a very light grip like holding a brim-full wine glass up for a toast. Acupuncture points in the hand act as energy receivers. I like to place my thumbprint on the side of my middle finger near the fingernail. This requires a larger diameter handle.
Another thing, I don't like wood handles. They feel dead. Some people really like copper.

 Re: Pendulum vs LRods
I have not tested the proposition whether women have an easier time with pendulum versus L-rods, so I defer to whomever has experience in these matters. However, I have a _suspicion_ that it is mostly psychological in any case (even if it is gender-based psychology!) since the dowsing implements of whatever design are, in my view, simply tools to aid the subconscious and, in fact, can be ultimately dispensed with once one masters device-less dowsing. It is often the case in dowsing, as well as remote viewing and other kinds of ESP, that if you _believe_ something is a problem, it will be. And if you don't believe it is, it won't be. (The problem is that we often find it difficult to change our beliefs, no matter how much we may want to!)
Thanks for your interesting comments! Paul

 Re: Pendulum vs LRods
I think this is an interesting link about how things like "aluminum foil, thin wires (I'm thinking L-rods here), pine needles, and wire-framed glasses can act as suitable transducers" for natural sources of electromagnetic perception. While the article mainly deals with high power microwaves, "geophysical electrophony" deals with meteors, earthquakes, aurora, etc. I guess they need one for dowsing. http://www.bionity.com/en/encyclopedia/ ... ffect.html

 Re: Pendulum vs LRods
I did not intend to leave pendulums out of this. Obviously if there are vibrations the pendulum is going to pick them up, too. Unlike the high power sources, the dowsing "energy" will certainly be extremely subtle. That's why it requires some kind of meditative state of consciousness to tune into it and filter out other influences. Also the human body can act as a transducer, too. Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.

 Re: Pendulum vs LRods
Hi, Locator--
I'm just getting around to looking at the article you posted. I think it's interesting, but am not sure it has anything to do with dowsing. There are a number of reasons to think dowsing is independent of electromagnetic radiation. A prime example is that you can successfully dowse with plastic or wooden Y-rods, and both materials are of course very good insulators against EM fields and currents. Also, you can successfully dowse for things that _aren't_ susceptible to EM radiation, such as missing wooden, plastic, ceramic, or vegetative items. You can also successfully map-dowse, decision-dowse, dowse through time, etc. All this leads me to think that any kind of EM-based energetic phenomena in the environment isn't necessary for dowsing to work.
Best wishes, Paul

I certainly don't claim to have all the answers. I like a book titled "Supersensonics". The author talks about what he calls "proticty". Instead of electrons in electricity this is protons. While this link doesn't say much, it does say 90% of cosmic energy is protons. http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hb ... osmic.html
